2017 Junior Track Cycling Development Programme Championships

The 2017 Junior Track Cycling Development Programme Championships will be held beginning 12 midday on Sunday 29th January.
The track will be open at 11:30am for warmup.
This championship programme is for our Junior cyclists who have gone through this season's development programme and to have a championship event so that they can really show the skills they have developed since the beginning of the season.There are four grades, with the winner of each grade receiving a trophy to keep:
- U13 Boys Championship
- U13 Girls Championship
- 13 and over Boys Championship
- 13 and over Girls Championship
The format is run under an Omnium format with the following four events:
- 400m Time Trial
- 1200m / 2000m Scratch Race
- 2400m / 3600m Points Race
Medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd placing will be awarded for each of the above events.
An Overall Junior Development Championship trophy will be awarded to the rider with the most points accumulated over the four events.
Omnium Format Points for each event:
40 points for 1st, 38 points for 2nd and so forth.
Points accumulate over the first 3 events and each rider starts the points race with the points accumulated.
Points earned in the Points race are added to their total.
Overall winner is the rider with the most points.
In the event of a tie, the winner will be decided by the placing in the final lap of the points race.

There will be no Development events in the normal Sunday race programme following the Junior Development Champs.
