Canterbury Age Group Open Track Cycling Championship 2021

All riders U15 upwards must hold a CyclingNZ licence to compete. Make sure you select an age group for the age you will be on 31 December this year.
Canterbury Selectors will announce a Nationals team at the conclusion of the Championships. Please note the selection criteria; all riders wishing to be considered for an event at Nationals must ride that event at Canterbury Champs unless they are in a National programme or have registered trade team commitments (refer Policy on CTC website http://www.canterburytrack.co.nz/articles/280/selection-policy-3-december-2020).
Entry fee: $5 per event. Payment at the registration desk at the start of the competition.
Entries are binding: Riders will be required to pay for an event they have entered whether they ride or not.
Wednesday 27 January: 7.00pm - Time Trials
U13, U15, U17, U19W, EW, MW and MM: 500m
U19M and EM: 1000m
All one-off finals
Friday 29 January: 7.00pm - Pursuits
U15: 1600m (4 laps)
U17, U19W, MW and MM: 2000m (5 laps)
U19M and EW: 3000m (7.5 laps)
EM: 4000m (10laps)
All grades heats and top 4 to a final. 3-4 ride for bronze / 1-2 ride for gold-silver
Saturday 30 January:
10.00am - Points
Open Junior Sprints for U15 and U17
Open Sprints for U19, Elite and Masters
Flying 200m to seed - all riders will get a sprint race
Semi-finals and finals = best of three rides
2.00pm (approx start, but not earlier):
U15, U17, Masters, and Open (U19 and Elite) PointsrRaces
Distances will be announced, some grades may be combined with separate medals. Sprints every four laps, points 5,3,2,1, with double points on final sprint. Twenty-point bonus if lap field and 20 point deduction if lose a lap.
Sunday 31 January: 10.00am
U13 and U15 Derby
Keirin: U17, Masters and Open Keirin. Heats if required, a six-rider final and if 3-6 non-qualifiers, a minor final.
U13 - U15 Derby: 600m scratch race run under Sprint rules (start on whistle, push allowed and timed over last 200m).
Scratch: Distance to be announced depending on entries, and grades may be combined with separate medals.
Elimination: U13, U15, U17, Open and Masters: Last rider eliminated in each lap (on 400m track) until final two riders. Unlike Club racing only the last rider each lap is removed, or a rider is disqualified from the race.

- If not entering all events, please include the events you want to enter, otherwise we will assume you are entering ALL events and will programme as such.
